Comments: Phalen is an excellent shore fishing lake that has 4 miles of fishable shoreline. The fishing for walleyes, and sunfish is usually good all season long. From a canoe you can fish all of Lake Phalen as well as paddle into Round Lake, Keller Lake, Spoon Lake, and Gervais Lake. The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District is working with the University of Minnesota to study the movement of common carp in the Phalen chain of lakes and is also working on a removal effort of this species you can read more on the RWMWD website.
