State trail research project this summer
The DNR is completing a visitor research project on state trails this summer, to help us understand trends and gather feedback to improve trails in the future. Staff will be on state trails at different times of day and days of the week, based on a scientific sampling plan, to ensure we hear from all types of people who enjoy the trails. If you encounter staff during your visit, please take a few minutes to tell us about your trip!
There are over 1,300 miles of state trails in Minnesota, ranging from paved, railroad-grade bike trails to natural terrain for horseback riding, and a world class mountain biking system. Find your perfect trail with our trail start-up guide.
