Fire weather watch
The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for parts of west central Minnesota in effect Saturday, Oct. 5.Counties include Big Stone, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lac Qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, and Yellow Medicine.Burning Restrictions in Cook and Lake counties
Burning restrictions are in effect in Cook and Lake counties. No burning permits will be issued or activated, campfires for dispersed camping and fireworks are restricted in Cook and Lake counties. Please review all burning restriction information before any outdoor activity.

Minnesota state forest trail planning
The DNR is in the process of revising our forest trail plans. The project will provide trail connections, add new trails, change allowable trail uses, and close unsustainable trails.
