Bald Eagle Lake

Location

Bald Eagle Lake is located just north of the City of White Bear Lake west of the intersection of Highway 61 and County Road J. Get complete information on LakeFinder.

Species Present

Walleye: above average abundance, average size with some larger fish present 
Northern Pike: average abundance, average size 
Largemouth bass: average abundance, variety of sizes present, including some lunkers 
Bluegill: above average abundance, average size 
Crappie: average abundance, smaller than average size but some larger fish present 
Muskellunge: average abundance, average size 
Bullhead species: lower than average abundance, larger than average size 
Yellow Perch: low abundance, small average size

Boat Access

  • Public access to Bald Eagle is located within Bald Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park operated by Ramsey County. Travel north of White Bear Lake on Highway 61 to 120th St. (north county line). Turn left at the stoplight, then another left on the west frontage road to 61. The access is about one-half mile south of 120th St.

Shore Fishing

The only shore fishing on this lake is from the fishing pier located south and east of the boat ramp. Parking for the pier is just south of the entrance to the boat ramp entrance road.

Management Plans

  1. Fisheries standard lake survey in 2022.
  2. Spring Muskellunge ice-out trap net survey in 2022 and 2023.
  3. Stock 751 pounds of Walleye fingerlings annually.
  4. Stock 1,047 Muskellunge fingerlings in even numbered years.

Comments

Bald Eagle is the most popular Muskie lake in the east metro area and large fish are present. The boat access parking lot is often full on weekends. Walleye and Largemouth Bass fishing can also be good. Panfish angling is very popular in the winter on this lake.
