Until the year 2005, the Nongame Wildlife Program, working in cooperation with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, conducted state-wide bald eagle nesting surveys every five years to keep track of our state breeding population. The results from the 2000 and 2005 survey are available below. Because of its success and the recovery of the Bald Eagle population in the United States and in Minnesota, surveys will no longer be conducted, but some population monitoring by the Fish and Wildlife Service will continue. Between 2000 and 2005, there was an increase in nesting bald eagles across Minnesota by over 20 percent! Results |  |
