The trail(s):
The trail terrain consists of flat to gently rolling hills. The snowmobile trail runs through a mixture of open and wooded areas. Snowshoeing is allowed in all parts of the park except caution should be taken on snowmobile trails. Although we don't groom for cross country skiing, skiers can break their own trails anywhere in the park except on groomed snowmobile trails. Numerous deer and other wildlife can be seen in the park.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.
Facilities:
- The stone picnic shelter with a wood stove serving as the warming house is located in the picnic grounds.
- Snowshoe rentals available in the park. Ski rentals available from a private vender near the park.
- The park has 4 camper cabins available for rent, Thursday through Sunday during the winter months and daily from April through October. All four cabins feature heat and electricity to keep you comfortable during your winter adventure. Reservations can be made 120 days in advance at www.mndnr.gov/reservations or by calling 1-866-857-2757.
