Yurts are insulated round canvas structures with wood floors, woodstoves and basic furnishings, available year-round. The windows open, and there is a skylight in the domed roof. Some are accessible.

Afton State Park: two yurts near the camper cabins.
Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area: three yurts along the west side of Yawkey Mine Lake.
Glendalough State Park: two yurts on the southeast side of Annie Battle Lake.

Size and capacity: One yurt at Glendalough State Park is 16 feet in diameter and sleeps three people. All the other yurts are 20 feet in diameter and sleep seven people.
Furniture: All the 20' yurts have two sets of twin bunk beds plus a twin-over-full-size futon bunk bed. They also have a table, two chairs, two benches, a glider chair and a side table. Accessible yurts have only one bench. The 16' yurt at Glendalough State Park has one twin-over-full-size futon bunk, and a smaller table and two stools.
Bathrooms: Yurts do not have indoor plumbing. They are located near year-round primitive toilets.
Cooking: All yurts have a picnic table and fire ring with grill for outdoor cooking, and a locker for secure outdoor food storage. Some have covered shelters for food preparation. No cooking, candles, or other open flames are allowed inside the yurts.
Electricity: None of the yurts have electricity.
Heat: All yurts have a woodstove for heat. In the winter, wood will be provided for heating.
Firewood: Firewood for the fire ring and cooking can be purchased at the park office. Only approved firewood is allowed.
Accessibility: One yurt at each location is accessible.
Pets: All pets must be kept on a leash of not more than six feet and personally attended at all times. Pets are not allowed inside yurts or other buildings, lodging facilities, or beach areas, and may not be left unattended outdoors or in vehicles.
Smoking: All yurts and other buildings are smoke free.

Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance, 24 hours a day, except for the first day a reservation becomes available. On that first day, reservations cannot be made online before 8 a.m.
A non-refundable reservation fee ($10.00 for call center/$7.00 for web) is charged for each advance reservation.
