Camp Ripley/Veterans State Trail

The Camp Ripley/Veterans State Trail consists of two segments. The paved, western segment is 1.4 miles long and connects Charles A. Lindbergh State Park to Mill Park in the City of Little Falls. The paved trail follows the western side of the Mississippi River and aligns with the Mississippi River Trail (MRT). In the summer, it is popular for hiking, bicycling and in-line skating.

The second, eastern segment is located near the city of Genola. It is 3.7 miles long and connects to the Soo Line South motorized trail. It is unpaved and is only open to motorized use. 

As one of the oldest towns in Minnesota, established in 1848, Little Falls offers visitors an experience rich in history and culture. Area attractions include festivals, concerts, art exhibits, museums, outdoor recreation, dining and shopping. The Charles A. Weyerhauser Memorial Museum and Charles Lindbergh House and Museum are popular attractions located near Charles A. Lindbergh State Park.

Landscape

Southwest of the state park you will see primarily oak, with some aspen and conifers. The Mississippi River is not far from the trail, so you may observe migrating waterfowl.

Permits
A state park vehicle permit is required if parking at Charles A. Lindbergh State Park.

Off-highway vehicles require the proper registration. Non-residents must have the correct non-resident OHV trail pass.

Do not leave valuables in your vehicle!

Winter
Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking are permitted winter uses. Trails are not groomed or packed. There is no snowmobiling on the trail.
