Resident and nonresident hunters 17 years of age or younger may take ducks, mergansers, coots, moorhens and Canada geese statewide from Saturday, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 8, during the Youth Waterfowl Hunt.
An adult resident or nonresident mentor 18 years of age or older, who is authorized by the youth's parent or guardian, must accompany the youth hunter at all times during the hunt. The accompanying adult may not hunt.
Hunters 16 to 17 need a federal duck stamp. No other hunting license or waterfowl stamps are required. Hunters ages 17 and younger may take regular season bag limits of ducks and five Canada geese statewide when accompanied by an adult 18 or older who is not hunting. The accompanying adult does not need a license.
Hunters ages 13 to 17 must have a firearms safety certificate or apprentice hunter validation in their possession.
Ducks, Canada geese, mergansers, coots and moorhens may be taken from a half-hour before sunrise to sunset. Motorized decoys maybe used. All other migratory bird hunting regulations apply.
